Laila Harrak

In front of the camera and behind it, Laila Harrak is a consummate journalist and TV personality. As main news anchor at DW News, Germany’s international broadcaster, Laila is live on the air every hour with news bulletins, in-depth analysis and rolling coverage of breaking news.

Laila has 15 years experience in the front line of global news broadcasting. Before DW News, she worked as a broadcast journalist for the Associated Press, covering world-shaping events in Brussels, The Hague, Kosovo, Palestine, Israel, Egypt and other hot spots, interviewing influential leaders, activists and power brokers.

Laila has extensive conference experience on the stage and behind the scenes. In 2018 she hosted Berlin’s War or Peace Festival, moderated a panel on food security for CARE in 2017 and hosted the 2015 Deauville Partnership Conference.

She has covered countless European Union and NATO summits and ministerial meetings for the  Associated Press. Laila can host in Dutch as well as English.
