Zakka Jacob is an award-winning Anchor and Editor-Output at CNN-News18 – twice voted Best News Presenter at the Asian Television Awards.

For 20 years, Zakka has been anchoring and covering some the defining news stories across the globe. His most important work includes the Asian Tsunami of  2004, the Mumbai terror attacks 2008, the leadership transition in China 2012 and the Indian General elections.

Back when he started in 2003, Zakka created history by being the youngest newscaster on a major Indian station. He was with Headlines Today, India’s first 24 hour English news channel for more than seven years. While there, he interviewed a range of international newsmakers, including           former US President Bill Clinton, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and writer Salman Rushdie.

In 2011, Zakka left for Beijing to join China Central Television CCTV, becoming the first and only South Asian face on Chinese national TV. Since 2014 he’s been making and breaking the news in India with CNN-News 18, twice winning the Best News Presenter Award for his show Face Off@9. His success has continued with his latest show Brass Tacks.
