Sir Andrew Strauss OBE
Sir Andrew Strauss OBE is the Chair of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Cricket Committee and a distinguished former England Captain and batsman, playing100 tests and helping England become the #1 test team. He resigned as Director of Cricket for the ECB in 2018, as his wife Ruth was undergoing treatment for lung cancer which she sadly succumbed to later that year. Following her death, Andrew set up the Ruth Strauss Foundation (RSF) to raise awareness and help parents with critical illnesses navigate difficult conversations with their children.
In addition to his charitable work, Andrew is a leading figure in cricket, contributing to the ECB’s review in 2022 of England’s resounding Ashes defeat. As a speaker, he is confident and comfortable linking the mental fortitude needed within the sport of cricket to business topics. Furthermore, Andrew is passionate about raising awareness of non-smoker’s lung cancer and motivating others through his story and his wife’s legacy.
