Nina Donaghy
Nina Donaghy is a global news presenter and correspondent. She has covered international affairs and diplomacy based in Washington DC, New York, Jerusalem and London. Areas of expertise include International/US diplomacy, US politics, Middle East, the Syrian conflict. As a visiting fellow at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government. Nina has current expertise in war crimes and international justice.
Her 2022 documentary for Al Jazeera English on the hunt for Syria’s war criminals ‘The Trial of Anwar Raslan’ was screened at The Frontline Club in London. BBC’s ‘Panorama’ engaged her as a consultant on war crimes investigations on Ukraine.
Nina has extensive knowledge of US diplomacy as Fox News’ reporter based first at the US State Department and then Jerusalem during the Obama Presidency. Returning to the US as Washington Correspondent for CGTN America, she has recently been based at the United Nations and again in the Middle East as an anchor and correspondent for international networks.
Earlier in her career Nina was a South Asia producer for BBC World Service News and a London based producer for ITN. Nina holds British, American and Irish citizenships, enabling her to work globally.
Nina’s strong knowledge of international affairs combined with field reporting – including conflict zone – makes her a credible anchor presence. She maintains a network of high level contacts across the US/International diplomatic and political apparatus.
Nina’s on going consultancy work with Nobel Laureate Nadia Murad was featured at the ‘Murad Code’ panel during the UK Foreign Office hosted ‘Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict’ global conference 2022.
Nina holds masters in English literature from Oxford University and in Press and Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is a board member of youth peacebuilding NGO ‘Cinemagic’ – training young people in NIreland, Ireland and Jordan in TV and filmmaking.
