Micah Richards

A former professional footballer and club ambassador for Manchester City, Micah Richards has played for Manchester City, Aston Villa, England and for Fiorentina in Serie A. After several knee injuries, he retired in 2019 -at the age of 31- and became a football commentator.
With a background from Saint Kitts and Nevis, Micah supported Kick It Out, football’s anti-racism campaign until in 2012, he stood in opposition to the movement over its lack of action against the player on player racism within the sport. And he left Twitter that same year over racial abuse issues.
As such, Micah is a timely, relevant and powerful motivational speaker on issues of sport, race and social change. A strong sporting influencer, he speaks to the power of sport for positivity and upward momentum, but measures that with cautionary words around the prevalence of hate speech, cyberbullying and racism still within the football community.
