Dr David Blevins is the Senior Ireland Correspondent for Sky News.  He has been a journalist for 30 years, during which time he has covered every significant event on the island of Ireland – from the ceasefires and Good Friday Agreement to Brexit and the global pandemic.  Since joining Sky News 25 years ago, he has been recognised by the Royal Television Society for his coverage of the Omagh bombing, won widespread commendation for his balanced and impartial journalism and covered assignments in 10 different countries on four different continents.
David has interviewed two US, three Irish Presidents and every British and Irish Prime Minister in the last three decades.  Prior to joining Sky, David worked for various newspapers and spent five years as a radio news anchor/reporter.  He was educated at Portadown College and the University of Wales and regularly guest lectures journalism students in America on the role of the media in the Northern Ireland peace process.
David is married to Ruth and they have a daughter, two sons and a one-year-old granddaughter. In 2022 David received an honorary doctorate from Ulster University for his outstanding contribution to journalism, education and charitable projects in Northern Ireland.
