Arron Armstrong

Arron Armstrong is a highly experienced broadcast journalist with a career spanning 18 years in television and radio. He has a proven track record at some of the best known broadcasters in the world including the BBC, Sky News, Sky Sports and Eurosport/TRT World.
As a news and sport presenter at Sky, Arron regularly anchored breaking stories including the Westgate Mall terror attack, Christian Eriksen’s collapse at Euro 2020, the death of Mohammed Ali and the formation and collapse of the European Super League.
During his time at the BBC, Arron reported from some of the biggest events in world sport, including London 2012 and Wimbledon. He was the BBC’s lead reporter at the 2010 Hockey World Cup, and 2011 Women’s Football World Cup, and also covered international cricket.
Arron broke an exclusive story for the BBC World Service about a Premier League footballer paying protection money to a London gang, which featured in the programme’s successful Sony Award entry.
Most recently, Arron broke the news  that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was complete, and led TRT World’s live unbroken coverage as the last plane left Kabul.
He also anchored TV3’s coverage of the 2006 Ryder Cup at the K Club in Dublin.
Arron is also an experienced event host, auctioneer and after-dinner speaker, working at numerous events for Extreme Golf including the Sir Ian Botham invitational, The Who Cares Scotland gala dinner and fundraiser and several online quizzes.
